Renewable Fuels to Provide US with 25% Energy by 2025

In the news: Rand Corp. study has recently showed decreasing costs of ethanol, wind power and other forms of renewable energy. The said sources of energy are predicted to provide US with at least 25% conventional energy by 2025 and the good news is that it will not entail for additional expense.

Further results of Rand study also shows that if US would derive 25% of its power from renewable energy then it will be able to reduce its oil dependency by 20% which is approximately equivalent to the imported oil from Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. And since the use of fuel is lessened it would also lower down carbon dioxide emissions by two-thirds approximately covering the next 19 years. Plus it is also assumed that the costs of renewable energy will continuous decline which makes it even more practical to use.

Reid Detchon, executive director of the Energy Future Coalition which is a foundation funded by bipartisan group sponsoring the Rand Study said in an interview: "We hope it will help policy planners rethink the context.”
